Your wedding day can, however, be a very significant day in your life. Maybe it’s even the day on which you started a lifelong love of Valium. It can be beautiful, memorable, and even perfect. But the most important day ever?
This is a sentence used by wedding vendors to swindle you into spending more than you should on things you don’t actually want. It’s one day and I wish more people thought of the teeny tiny little consideration of the marriage that follows. Please for the love of toast, don’t mortgage your future to have little keychain wedding favors or deluxe photography package A.
That being said, it is one day that you will never have again. I think it’s that desperate need to hold on to such love, generosity and beauty that can trick a person into thinking spending money will help somehow in bottling such loveliness. Maybe it does help, but I can tell you that I didn’t drop one nickel on flowers or a champagne fountain and it was still a perfect day. It was perfect because of the person I was marrying and the wonderful people we were blessed to share the day with.
